Your Challenge Course Experience
Whether you are visiting us at the course or we are coming to you with portable programming, you can plan for a fun, interactive experience that will challenge you, encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, and build problem-solving skills.
What is a challenge course?
A challenge course is a combination of mental and physical challenges requiring groups to work as a team to accomplish goals. Through a series of fun and interactive activities, participants learn valuable information about themselves, each other, and the group as a unit. By removing people from their usual environment and placing them in a new, unique setting, a challenge-course experience fosters shared learning, openness, and cooperation.
At Stowe Heights, we operate under a challenge by choice philosophy. This means that you will get to choose the level of your challenge. We encourage stepping outside of comfort zones, but all of our participants are empowered to decide what that looks like for them in the moment.
While each experience will be unique to the individual group's needs and goals, and activities will depend on the type of experience booked (highs, lows, or portables), there are a few things you can expect from any Stowe Heights program:
Connection-Building
The day starts with teams participating in ground-level games and activities that help with learning names, building connections, and setting the tone. These activities may involve poly spots, hula hoops, beach balls, and even the occasional rubber chicken.
Progression of Challenge
As the day unfolds, groups face a variety of imaginative challenges, ranging from simple to complex. Experiences will generally build off of each other, teaching key skills before progressing to more challenging obstacles.
Reflective Learning
Facilitators guide the experience with reflective questions, allowing groups to explore and enhance their abilities. This interactive approach helps shape the focus of the day, creating a personalized and meaningful experience.
